The Gmaj7 guitar chord isn’t that common but it does show up in songs from time to time.

The trick with this one is the stretch flip your index finger has to do on the 2nd fret of the thinnest string.

Keeping that finger in place whilst fretting the normal G bass notes takes some getting used to. However it’s worth it as it sounds great.
