How To Play The G# Chord - Drue James

The G# (G sharp or A flat if you prefer) is a fourth fret barre chord using an E major shape.

This chord is a good beginners barre as it starts higher up the neck than many common barre chords. Starting higher up the neck (from fret 3 onwards) is easier to press down all the strings with your barre index finger.
