Another “Essential Scale”. The Natural Minor Scale (or sometimes referred to as the minor scale) has a moody feel. Like the last 2 lessons we’ll be learning it’s formual, boxed pattern and how to break out of the box with octaves.
It’s essential that you download the 2 worksheets above to understand this lesson on the natural minor scale formula and playing it with octaves.
Once you understand that all scales are made up of a formula of notes you can start to play them anywhere on the neck.
TIP 1 = Learn the boxed position off by heart first. That way you’ve always got a go to set of notes that sound great over the track.
TIP 2 = This backing track is slow and sounds great with bends. Watch the video to learn more.
TIP 3 = By all means play the natural minor scale on 1 string first. This is great way to come up with melodies.
