Your thumb is playing the bass notes (like the rhythm guitarists) and your other fingers are like the singer or lead guitarists. And this is all happening at the same time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fingerstyle is more challenging than strumming. Your chords cannot be muted. It\u2019s recommended that you can make all the common open chords (A, E, D, C, G, Em, Am, Dm, G Fmaj7) without muting strings. You can check your chords by picking each string, rather than strumming.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>It\u2019s also more challenging because you need extra independence between the fingers on your picking hand.
